lab running off

I tried a search and couldn't find anything on this. I have lab mix that is about 10 months old. Anytime she is accidently let out the front door she runs and runs and runs. Anybody have any advise on how to stop her from running away once she gets out?

Here is a site that describes how to teach a Really Reliable Recall. It takes time and practice, but is VERY worth it.
Blaze runs and runs when he gets loose too. For him its because he doesn't get to be loose very often, so it is very exciting. I wait until he is tired and then call him, (still working on the RRR), or I get out a toy and have him DOWN STAY (which he understands), and I go up to him.
What you want to be sure to do is to NOT CHASE him, then it becomes a fun game, making it more difficult the next time.
And the number two thing, is to be sure that when you DO have him (your hand on his collar), you PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE, and treat treat treat no matter how angry you are. He came back!!!
