Happy Halloween!!
Just wondering what tricks everyone's Goldens can do, and what treats they like best!
My talented puppy can "come" LOL (Hey it is a start!) And Colt's favorite treat is strawberry applesauce!!
Have a spooky day!!!

Chase can do the obvious sit, down, stay & come. He also can shake with either hand on command :903 he can roll over in either direction :rollin , sit-up, take a bow, and he just learned to speak last week. :lol Now I can't get him to shut up! He does all his tricks by verbal command or hand signals. His favorite treat is a shot of peanut butter on a rawhide bone...

Other than all the normal commands he can do w/ hand signals Thunder has some odd ones!
My daughter is teaching Thunder a great new trick! She saw this on the animal channel this spring and decided to try it.
We bought some of those BIG baby ABC blocks at a garage sale. She has taught him to retrieve the letters A, B, C, on command from behind a wall. :rollin
She is working on D now. It has taken 5 months so far!
Thunder can also dispense out Ice from the ice maker in the refrigirator door! He uses his paw on the lever so he dosn't get slobbers on it! :lol
Hehe..I keep telling her if she quits her day job they can run off and join the circus! :p
~edit~
Oh..His favorite Treat is ICE which he gets himself! :lol

Sit, down, stand, stay, come, heel, finish (on verbal and hand signals), sit up, stand on hind legs, right, left, speak, bow, wave, shake, give high five/ high ten, and all the agility obstacles. :)

Hey, just reading what your goldens an do and I am so jealous. My 6-month old retriever can sit, lie, shake paw and roll over (when he isn't distracted by something else). I am now trying to learn him to 'come' (without much success) and must learn him to 'stand' as well, as everytime i try to groom him, he lies down.
I would love to teach him all these other tricks but work full time and don't know how much time i need to be spending teaching him (or how to go about it).
How do you learn a dog to turn 'Right' or 'Left'? I'd love to be able to teach him to do this.
Also, how much time do i need to be spending on training everyday?

Cassidy is 1 1/2 years and she can sit, lie down, shake, speak, and our favorite give kisses (but her kisses are her cold nose touching your lips - no tongue). She can also wait a long time in the sit position for her treat. I think her fav treat is freeze dried liver. It took her about 6 months to learn all her tricks but sometimes I swear she understands everything I say.
