Oh I just thought of something else!:048 My last dog (lab mix) was a male and we were BEST friends (I owned from the day he was born till ten years later.) So I’m sort of partial to males and that’s what i plan on getting now - Murphy. I have also heard they are more cuddley than females. But I don’t want to put up with excitement peeing, those embarrassing moments (ei: mounting) and dominance problem if possible, since i don’t plan on breeding him I will be neutering him. Will neutering him help these problems? Thanx so much!!!:D :085 :dogbark

It should prevent these problems. Just wait until he's over 14 months old to have him neutered to avoid having his legs grow disproportionately long.

There are some breed informational links in the <a href = "http://www.topgoldenretrieversites.net/tgrsearch.shtml" target="_blank">General Information </a>section of this site.

Go over to the Health and Grooming Forum. There are numerous topics on neutering in there.

In addition, you may want to read through the posts in the "Puppy and First-time Owners" forum. Sometimes, just using "Search" does not reveal what you are looking for. Health, Training, and Food discussions can be found in their respective forums.
