View Full Version : Infected Whisker?
Has anyone's dog had an infected whisker? What did you do about it? Did it just go away?
Last month, I posted a thread asking if anyone's dog ever had
an infected whisker.
Well today King had to have a mass taken off of his lip. It was not an infected whisker.
Has anyone's dog had any masses taken off their dog? We are doing a biopsy because the vet is recommending it. King is only 1 1/2 yrs old. I would think he is to young for cancer. I am praying.
Sorry I can't offer any info on this, just my hope that everything works out for you and your pup. Good luck!

Here is a site reference for you on this. It sounds to me like your vet is taking reasonable precaution by having a biopsy done. Let us know what the result is.

Thanks for the website. I will look at it. Poor King has a huge incision on his upper lip. 8 stitches total. I will keep you posted as to if it is cancer.
Thanks.

We will keep him in our prayers. Let us know what you find out.
It was not cancer. Some kind of skin growth that only has a 1% chance of returning.
THANK YOU LORD!

Great news, I had the same thing with my senior golden, the vet told me that most of them are cancerous with a bad outlook for the future, it was only an ingrown whisker, but it cost me an arm and a leg.
It was a hystiocytoma. Some kind of ugly skin mass. Thank god. Yes, the vet always costs a fortune!
Thank god!

Great news! You must be breathing a LOT easier, despite the financial pain.
You can say that again! Like I told my husband, oh well, it costs, but King relies on us to take care of him. He would give his life to protect us.
YEAH!!!! I know how relieved you must feel. :)
