Not feeling sad really, just kind of melancholy. Libby was my baby, my forever puppy - she was eight when she died, but to me, she was still a puppy. I didn't even notice any white hairs on her face, not until I look at pictures of her now. Isn't that funny?
We still have Cody (will be 11 in May) and our newest addition that we got last July - Abby. She is a character, full of mischief. As much as I love her, it's days like this that there is still an empty space in my heart for my Libby.

Very sorry about your loss. Dogs certainly leave a mark on our hearts don't they. Our border collie died in June and there is still times I get teary eyed when I remember certain things or just going for a walk. We now have a handsome 8 month old golden who certainly has a special place in our hearts but there is always that empty space for those we lost.

I understand the hurt you're feeling because I also go through it. Libby must have been very special to have made such a permanent mark on your heart.

I am approaching the one year anniversary (july 17) of the day we found out our dear Molson had hemangiosarcoma - the vet gave him a few days to a few weeks. He was 10 years old at the time - though there was no hope for him to recover he fought a hard fight until we said our final good byes on Sept. 5. I miss him very much and still tear up when I think of him and all the good times we shared. It is a truly heartbreaking experience to lose a beloved friend. I went through such a range of emotions - loss, anger, sadness and though I still feel many of these same emotions over losing Molson - I feel so blessed to have had him with us for as long as we did and will forever remember him and his beautiful golden ways.
