Sandy and her playmate Kaylei love to go outside now that they are used to the yard. They will play out there for literally hours with us going in and out to keep an eye on them.
Well Sandy was out there this morning and I looked up to find the two of them digging in the middle of the yard. We are trying to discourage this as much as possible ( I now have a 1/2 dozen rather large dig holes in my yard). I yelled out "NO DIGGING!!!!!!!!" Well the two girls looked up at me with this look like "who us? couldnt be" Only thing is their noses were caked with dirt. I wished I had a camera. They went off on their merry way to play some more. Well when they came in I was laughing so hard and I had to send them back out to have the "dirt" cleaned off of their chins. It turns out that yes they had dirt on their noses, but the dirt on their chins was literally dozens of dead ants that they had been eating. As I was trying to clean their muzzles with paper towels (I HATE ANTS) Sandy takes her huge golden retriever tongue and licks them all off of her chin. Will I ever stop getting grossed out and get used to her desires for gross things? But boy I love my beautiful girl. (As my large pet store bills attest)
