Hi, I have a 2 yr old golden that has been eating canidae for over a year and is doing excellent on it.

My wife and I just recently picked up a bernese mountain dog puppy. He is 12 weeks old and weighs 30 pounds (vet yesterday). Is canidae ok to feed to a large breed when they are a pup? I compared ingredients and protein/fat content with the nutro and it is very similar. I would like to continue to feed him the canidae and I was planning on supplementing with glucosamine/vit c tabs once per day.

does anyone have experience with this?

We feed Canidae too. If I were in your position, I would do the same. Bernese Mountain Dogs are adorable. Congrats and good luck!

I'm so jealous! I really want a Bernese to join our family, but my husband wants to wait a few more years. Sorry I don't have any wisdom to offer about whether or not Canidae is good for your Bernese. We feed our girls Canidae, and I can't say enough good things about it. They love it, and they are just thriving on it. I'd love to see pictures of your two babies.

We fed Lacey Canidae All Stages for several months in her first year and she did just fine on it. I can't offer anything specific related to the breed you're considering, but thought I'd add this little bit. Canidae seems to be a very well balanced food and, I'd think, should be fine for your upcoming addition.

We have feed Rascal Canidae from when he was 8 weeks old. He is now 6 months and 50lbs. Lean, mean running machine. His coat is perfect, never had a stool problem. I have to say it one of the best foods out there. I follow the label and have just switched to 2 a day feedings (same food as 3 a day just more in the morn and night till he gets less when older) I say go for it with the new pup and good luck.

Canidae is fine. Do not supplement a healthy dog.
