I have and I will again... any chance I get.
What better reason to blow off work than to spend the day with your best friends?

When we first got our golden, she was 15 months old and I would not crate her sometimes, like if we were only going out for a a short time. Our other dog was 3 at the time and long out of crate and having to "clean" before I went out (counters, etc) I unfortunately left the other dog's medicine out and came home to find the container on floor, open and empty! To make a long story short(er) after a few hours at vet (and many hundreds of dollars later) we came home. I had the job of watching my sweet girl and having to check her heart rate hourly. So I got no sleep that night and I did call in a sick day the next day to recuperate. So I would have liked to say it was a fun mental health day, but it really wasn't. I did get to go to a great retirement party for a colleague that night and I still do the "clean" all the time, no matter what!It was no fun explaining that night why I was out for the day!
You know when you think about it, we have holidays for every reason under the sun. I think we should have a GR day! a national holiday!!!

Well, I see I keep good company in my waywardness. I recently took off the last warm afternoon of the year to take my dog fishing. It was a good decision! It's now dipping down to the 30's at night, won't be any fishing for another 6 months.
I didn't really lie, I just told my boss I was better off at home that afternoon, I just needed to take my medicine and I'd be fine the next day .... the medicine being my dog, of course!! :D
:woofpup That should be on a list of "top ten reason's to play hooky with your golden retreiver" It's better and cheaper than antidepressants!!!! :woofpup
