I have a question from my daughter who has two cats. She lives in California, and her one cat has very dry skin. I tried 3 searches, and the prompt said there were no matches.

My daughter said that she was supposed to put something in the food, but does not remember what. She thinks maybe it is olive oil. She also thinks maybe she should put something on the cat's skin.

She and her husband live in an apartment, and the dryness is an issue when the heat blows. I will suggest a humidifier, but she is looking for something for the food.

Thanks
Sammy

A little oil in the food should help. Fish oil may be more interesting to the cat than olive oil though.....She may want to try a leave-in spray conditioner--just make sure it's for cats :)

In addition to the fish oil caps, I sometimes give my cats some sardines in oil mixed with their regular food.

I tried giving my kitten part of a sardine once, she didn't want anything to do with it !!! Maybe I'll try again. She doesn't have dry skin but seems to me she should go bonkers over a piece of fish ??

Still a very crazy kitty, this Raven of mine. She doesn't climb any of my curtains thank goodness but can't keep her out of the dirt in my plants. I think I'll get some large rocks and put on the top of the dirt in the pots ... maybe that would work?

Hey, did I tell y'all -- I figured out how to keep Daisy out of the cat box !! Sheer genius, I tell ya! I thought having a box with a top would help but it didn't. So it finally dawned on me, I turned the box towards the wall ... just enough space for the cat to get in but not Daisy. Problem totally permanently solved !!! :085

What kind of food is she feeding the cat? The dryness might indicate a problem with nutrition.
