Hello,

Does anyone know what the 'correct' brush or comb would be for this? Ginger has very thick feathering on her thighs. I didn't even realize how cottony it was getting until she came back from the groomer with it all nice and smooth...
I think that I was probably using the wrong brush, because whenever I brushed that feathering it looked even fluffier and more cottony. I was using mostly a fine-toothed comb, slicker or pin brush. Anyone know what type of brush might be better for this area?

In case I'm not explaining it well, here is the area (circled) I mean. This photo kinda shows what I meant by cottony, although a lot of the feathering isn't visible because of the angle.

What a pretty girl Ginger is CC. I have to admit, I use a comb for brushing the back feathering. Not sure if it is the correct one, but I don't end up with the cottony effect you are seeing with Ginger.

Have you tryed misting a little first, may help.

Maybe someone else is having the same problem and found a cure for your problem.

As far as I know, a pin brush (like a regular human hairbrush) is the correct brush. A slicker will make the coat fluffy because it's too fine and pulls on the hairs. A comb may also cause this problem.
