I've been using a bottle of purple puppy shampoo for Sara since she was a puppy till now (10 mo. old). That bottle just ran out, and was wondering what everybody uses for shampoo.

Sara is an inside dog, and gets washed biweekly.

Thanks!

The name label is washed off of Bianka's bottle here but it is a tearless and gentle shampoo for everyday use if need be. It is Vet. recommended.

It has all very nice oils in it such as Passion Flower and Rosemary, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Tea Tree Oil and Kukui Nut oil. A few others as well and each serve a purpose for her skin as well as her coat. Smells soooo good too.

Anyway, it is very nice shampoo for her and her coat is so soft after using this stuff. I will try to locate the name of this stuff when I get back up to the Pet Store.

I use Mane & Tail Shampoo & Conditioner and have had fabulous results (you can get it at most Wal-Marts)! :) I will also recommend Pure Pet Pearl (PetsMart sells it).

ae82gtm - I'll be surprised if you don't get confused with all the differing shampoos and opinions! :)

I second Goldengirl! Actually she's the one that got me to try the Main and Tale. I really do like it, Charlie is sooo soft and sooo shiny. I doubt I will ever switch. Also as Goldengirl said, you will definitely get many different choices. Good luck to ya!

I get Mane & Tail Shampoo & Conditioner at True Value also. Love it more than regular dog shampoo!

PS - Mane and Tail is a great human hair product too. I use the same stuff as Kally. :) People say I smell like Kally and Kally smells like me! :lol

I can't wait til our bottle of shampoo (doggie) runs out so I can buy new. We are going to switch to Mane and Tail also (Kally should be getting a portion of the money made from people buying Mane and Tail! :085 )

Thanks everyone for your input.

I bought a 32oz. bottle of Maine and Tail from Wal Mart. Will test it out this weekend!

Thanks again,

Mikhal

I also started using the mane and tail shampoo and conditioner. But did I misunderstand your post? You bathe Sara twice a week? I guess as long as her skin isn't drying out. But twice a week is a bit excessive. You don't want to strip her coat of the natural oils.

So far we're very happy with the mane and tail products. ;)

If I'm correct, I think Mikhal bathes Sara every 2 weeks (biweekly)

Mane and Tail shampoo you say? I think I will try it! :029 Sounds like two paws up to me. Up until now I have been using Pert Plus! Tulsa's breeder did reccomend a shampoo for her from Petsmart however I couldn't find it.
Thanks for the imputs folks!

I just realized that my bottle of Mane and Tail is Shampoo only. Do they have a bottle with both shampoo + conditioner, or is the conditioner always seperate?

Jenny - I bath Sara once every 2 weeks.. sorry for the misunderstanding.

Thanks,

Mikhal

The Shampoo and Conditioner are two seperate bottles.

Mikal,
My bad! LOL I read bi-weely and thought that meant 2 times a week! :o
anyway, yes the conditioner is a seperate bottle. Don't know if there are different types, but the conditioner I have is a "leave in" conditioner. And makes the coat nice and soft.

I use "Relief" Shampoo, which I get from the vet - it is for our kids who have skin allergies, which PL has BAD... I also use Resi-Cort after a bath while she's wet to prevent itching- I bathe her every couple of weeks unless we're particulary dirty...
