Does anybody out there have their own special moments with their Golden Retriever. Tramp and I have a couple. When I go to bed at night, Tramp likes to sleep with me whether it be on the bed or on the couch. I slept on the couch last night and I made room for Tramp to sleep on the couch also. Tramp is like my security blanket so i grabbed Tramp to sleep closer by me and he rested his head across my chest. The other night when I slept in my bed, Tramp went into his usual routine. First he layed down at the end of my bed. Then a little while later, Tramp curled up by my pillow. Finally, when I woke up during the middle of the night, Tramp was lying right next to me, with his body stretched out on my bed. Since I just woke up and I was a little groggy, I first though it was my late beloved Dylan and a smile came across my face. When I realized it was Tramp, I was still smiling and I went back to bed.

While I'm at it, there is another thing that Tramp likes to do. Tramp likes to shake hands. My sister and I taught Tramp to shake hands when he was 10 months old, My mouth actually dropped open, when after a number of tries, Tramp offered me his paw when I offered him my hand. Now Tramp loves to shake hands. When he comes over by me and I tell him to sit, Tramp will offer me his left paw. When I offer Tramp my other hand, Tramp will offer me his right paw. Tramp especially likes to shake hands when I'm eating. I know he's begging for food so I either give Tramp some food or continue to shake hands with him while I eat. It doesn't matter what I do because Tramp will steal my food anyway.

One last thing. When I got my first two dogs, Apollo and Dylan, I bonded with them right away. But with Tramp, it took a while. It probably was because it was six months since Dylan died and I was still mourning his death so we didn't click right away. But now as each day passes, Tramp and I get closer every day.

There are so many wonderful moments with Bear that I consider special. In the mornings when I'm putting on my socks, Bear
likes to sit in between my legs, tail wagging trying to get me to pet him (or prevent me from putting on my socks).

He loves to give me his paws, too. First one, and I'll say "other paw" and he'll give me that.

My favorite is when we're going somewhere in my truck and he
puts his head on my lap.

I think every moment with him is special. Even now as I type, he's asleep on the floor next to me and I can't help
but reach over and pet him, or scratch his ear.

I also agree Every moment with my Madison is special...she is my heart! Impossible to look into those big loving eyes and not melt and smile no matter what your doing...had friends over last night for dinner and drinks and she was the focus of the evening...melted their hearts in a matter of minutes...Goldens are the kindest, sweetest and most loved
dogs by every one Madison and I come into contact with...don't try to walk one...impossible! every one wants to touch and pet her and we end up just stopping and stopping and stopping(giggle)...Have a great Sunday everyone...Jan and Madison

I must agree that every moment that I spend with my Goldens is special. They are my best buddies. Just this morning after our 2 mile walk Cayenne was in his usual place on the drivers side of the car sitting behind the steering wheel waiting for me. He was watching me intently as I looked at him. He has the sweetest most precious look about him. I gave him a big hug & a kiss as he moved to the passengers side to let me get into the car. When I returned home, Royce followed me around the house & stayed in the bathroom while I had my shower. When I got out, he was overjoyed as if I had left him & just returned home. Yes, every little moment with them is special to me.

I agree, every moment spent with a golden is a wonderful moment! But the one I get goose bumps over is when we are out walking and I call him. He's on a dead run, ears flopping, tail straight out and his eyes tell me that there is no better place to be than with me.

Every moment is special, we all agree on that! But my favorite with Maggie is something that she just started doing after John died. When I get into bed to read or watch late night TV, I put me right arm out, and she comes up and lays next to me and puts her head on my shoulder. That way I can scratch her belly while I read, and she falls asleep instantly. I can't tell you what a comfort that is to me! I have no idea where this came from, but I love it!

CaynCher , I think Cayenne wants to drive! I can just see him thinking, "One of these days, she's gotta give me the keys!"

OMG, where do I begin? Maybe it's when he's sitting in the back seat, looking regal and enjoying looking out the window. One time he was in the front seat, sitting there watching a person walk their dog. When they got past us, instead of turning around to look, he watched them in the mirror!!!! They're soooo smart.

Could be when we cuddle on the floor, or when he tries to get nose to nose with a dog on the tv or when he brushes against me when we're walking and I have shorts on. That wonderfully soft fur against my skin - ahhhhhhhh.

Or, maybe when he goes out the door of the basement and ends up at the top of about 5 stairs in his "let's play ball" stance where his head drops and his legs splay out a bit and he's looking intently at you waiting and waiting and waiting.

Let me count the ways.

Because its just the three of us...special moments come 24/7.
But of all the moments i just adore them when they wake me up in the morning. Each takes one side of the bed then both of them at the same time jump up and start licking my face. Best thing ... to wake up every morning with these 2 guys giving me kisses. Precious.

Ahhh....Kona is my snuggle bunny. She snuggles up next to me before bed, and if Daddy wants to snuggle she paws and tries to squeeze away, then lays down at the foot of the bed. When the lights go out, she sneaks back up and snuggles next to mamma.

My favorites are mornings, when I get up to get ready, she usually ends up on my pillow. After I'm done, Daddy gets a kiss goodbye, then Kona gets belly rubs while she streches the sleepies off before morning potty. This morning she had sleepy bed hair again, her ear and face hair gets this sweaty wavy look. I always give her smell kisses on her muzzle before I leave, with more belly rubs!
