Been awhile since I started one of these soooo......
Things our goldens do that drive us nuts.....
1. The 3001 LARGE holes in my back yard
2. Underwear being dragged out and paraded when company comes over
3. Licking the couch cushions till they are soaking wet....
And I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Definitely the 5 minute potty circles: you know the circling to make sure that the wind is just right and the sun, the earth and stars are perfectly lined up or the whole thing has to start over. Despite the fact that it's sub zero and mom is standing on the porch yelling encouragement like an insane cheerleader.

Seamus' Mom

Oh...what a timely thread!
I just got home from work, opened the door to Seamus' room (yes, he has his own room) and at first glance, it appeared that the 12 inches of snow we got last Friday had somehow made it into the house. Every square inch of floor (and it's a big room, probably 12' x 18') was covered in fluffy white stuff about 3-4 inches deep. Standing in the middle of it is a smiling red dog :reddogx who is soooooooo proud of his redecorating efforts. cheerleade
Apparently, he got a hold of a really nice antique needlepoint pillow that I inherited from my aunt and uncle. Ironically, the needlepoint is of 3 puppies mischieviously tearing up some blankets (no doubt the inspiration for this caper). He had slit a hole in the velvet back and then went to town removing the stuffing. It is truly unbelievable to me just how much stuffing could be in one pillow! But, he was considerate enough not to chew up the needlepoint, so I think it can be salvaged. This pillow has been in the room for 2 years...so, I'm not sure what prompted the attack today. Maybe it's because I didn't give him any corned beef on St. Paddy's Day.

Molly, Love the description of the 5 minute potty circles! I can relate LOL! He HAS to potty DOWNWIND!
What drives me nuts is the need for him to beat me up the stairs. Every time. No matter how much I express my concern that he's going to trip me and send me flyin' one of these days! He blows right by me, barrells up to the top and looks down at me with this goofy face like "Ha! I win again!!!" :ddog
Drives me nuts. Especially when I'm carrying a laundry basket

The need to pin your legs down everytime you lay on the couch. Someone really needs to explain to my girl that 68lbs does NOT a lapdog make.

Try 100 lbs + :D
Also, not only the holes, Sandy's mom, but the pulling up of the grass! Patches and patches!!! Gone is the dream backyard; enter Winston's domain.

Never fails....weekend morning,it's early, we're trying to sleep in (it is a rare occasion), and the dog is outside and plays "hockey" with her metal food bowl on the cement patio. RIGHT outside our bedroom. CLANG CLANG CLATTER SCOOT!!!! "Wake up everyone and PET ME!"

They shed, these dogs lose more hair in a day than we lose in a lifetime. But they sure are good for keeping you warm when the furnace is broke.

Berr prefers to pin your legs to the foot stool and when you finally manage to extract yourself, leans towards you so closely that you can hardly get out of the chair. He also likes to lay on my daughter's bed on his pillow and breathe on her ear, which annoys her (especially if he's just been munching on his venision and brown rice--eeewwwww  smelly breath!)

That initial 5 minutes of greeting someone - Griff is a total banana - the wiggles, the excited piddles, the mouthing, the pawing. I make him sit and then he scootches sideways while sitting until he's sitting on the guest's foot! jump2

This is something new for us that's driving us NUTS!!!!
Murph has discovered his ability to whine  . He is 13 months now, and never whined before. We ignore it, but it's alot like a spoiled childs behavior...He whines before feeding time, whines while I'm in the shower, whines when he wants to play outside, whines if I'm on the computer, walks around the house with his Kong in his mouth crying for us to fill it...Anytime he wants something, and doesn't get it right away. At first, it was comical. Now it's making me bonkers!!!
Almost forgot- he actually whines when I open the fridge!
God knew what He was doing when He made them irrisistably adorable :p

We find laundry that happens to drop form the load we carry in the yard.
When I dare to go around him wearing slippers, I must carry my bitter apple spray to keep my toes from being bitten or licked. (I hardly ever spray it anymore, just carry it with me.)

Kona does the same on the stairs. I tried racing her up...forget it. And, walking down, I'll walk closer to one side because I know she'll rip roar down the stairs...but she always chooses THAT side, instead of all the room I left for her.
She also works her way up the bed to her pillow (in the middle of the bed). But always manages pushing either me or my husband off our pillows. We end up hugging the end of the bed and our pillow while she gets the rest of the King size bed. I've threatened to sleep on the upstairs couch, but I know she and my husband would both end up on there as well.

Sandy has that whine down pat. Although we call it "the sigh". She just does it for anything and everything that she wants. Especially if it's her favorite rubber bone and it is closer to one of the other dogs than her. They don't have to have it it just has to be closer to them. Sometimes literally millimeters closer to them and she goes bonkers sighing and moaning until they get up and move. She's a nut, but she's our nut.
Hailey has discovered that if she doesn't want to do something or go somewhere, then all she has to do is plunk her butt down, and its next to impossible to move her, lease or no lease, collar or no collar. It's sad, I have had to resort to doing something that I managed to never do with my kids...I HAVE TO BRIBE HER TO GET OFF HER BUTT AND MOVE!!!! I can drag her a few feet if we are in the kitchen, but on the carpet, forget it, it ain't happenin' She also will go into her crate and go to the very back so I can't reach her to put her collar on. She just sits there and gives me her golden smile.
It's a combination of funny and annoying especially if I'm in a hurry to go somewhere. I swear she does it just to watch and laugh at my reactions!!! ggrrrrr She especially likes to do it in the morning when I am trying to leave for work and get to daycare(which she loves btw).

Shaker will put her tennis ball in the chair with you and just stare at it until you pick it up and toss it to her. If you don't, she'll stare. And stare. And put her head on your leg and stare. And sigh. But sometimes, when you start to pick it up, she grab it and won't give it to you. Then when you go back to the computer or your book or whatever, she'll put it back in the chair. And stare....

Luke puts his tennis balls in his food bowl. One time he was eating around the ball. I took it out of the bowl & put it on the floor. He stopped eating, looked at me, picked it up and put it back in his bowl and continued to eat. There are times he has three balls at a time in there. It is comical to watch him try to eat all his food with all those balls in the way.

Wow, I could tell so many thing that KC does to drive me crazy!
1- When he wakes me up at 2:00 a.m. just because he's thirsty! It's awful to wake up with a wet nose and panting dog in your face! :(
2-When he finds a "Beanie baby" (those stuffed animals fully of beans) and rips it open and then starts shaking his head so that all the beans go all over the room!
3-When he gets out of the house through the front door and plays "try to get me". He never runs far and always stays either in my yard or in the next yard but never near enough for me to catch him!
4-And when I do catch him I will grab on to his coiler and he then twists his head a certain way..... and the coiler comes off! Right over his head!!!! That's when we start #3 all over again!
5- And on the grand occasions when he gets to go on a car ride, he thinks the only place to sit is in the passenger seat next to the driver. Which wouldn't be bad but that I'm usually sitting in that very seat! Which means- Hair all over my clothes, 100+ lbs. on my lap and the window that always has to be open even if it's below zero outside! (he has figured out how to roll down the window) :dogbark
6- Plus- sighing, wining, pawing, sitting on feet, thinking that he is the most important thing in the whole world! :dogpaux
Don't Get me wrong! I love KC sooooo much! He is the fun in my day! But he does now how to drive me crazy!

Oh, I luv my sweet Brooklyn, but please, pleeeeeeeese let somebody walk by us with out laying down and waiting for them to pet you.
Or lay down and wait when somebody is walking a whole block away...across the street...in a different direction...
Or is coming out of their house...3 doors down....and getting in their car....and waiting for their car to drive down the road to see if maybe they will stop and get out to pet you.
She just loves people so much and when she was little no one could pass by her without stopping to pet her, she was just too flippin' adorable of course! But now...
Sorry, girl, but you are a wee bit older...14 months....and don't have that puppy cute thing going for you and not everyone is going to stop and pet the large dog panting anxiously in their direction. Especially if they have to cross the street or get out their car to do it!
Now let's get a move on and continue with our walk!
