Has anyone experienced any problems with their goldens drinking different tap water when traveling to different areas? The last time we traveled with our 2 goldens, my one (Buddy)got the diarrhea for 2 days-my other was ok. I think I read something before about taking home tap water on a trip to mix with the new water? It sounds complicated and like one more thing to take/do prior to leaving!! We are planning a trip to NC in May and will definitely be taking them again and I think staying in a nicer place, so I don't want them P---- all over the place. We also will be staying for 5 days this time, so if I need to take water, does anyone know how much? I've started worrying about every little detail prior to traveling with them again!!!!

My dog is very sensitive to different water. We use bottled water for him at home b/c the well water is nasty. When he visited my Mom, and drank her tap water, he got soupy poopies. How about if you start adding bottled water to his usual water, gradually before your trip. Build him up so that he is used to straight bottled, then you can just buy water when you reach your destination. Then, reverse it when you get home. That might work. Good luck with it! Traveling with 5 gallons of water does not sound fun! ;)

Bottled water is a great idea-i didn't think of that. And that will save on trunk space for all of my stuff!! Thanks for the input!
