I'm sorry to ask a question that I am sure has already been asked, but I did a search and couldn't find anything. Anyway, I need a list of some inexpensive hotels that are pet friendly. We're headed to New England this summer and want to take our precious Brinkley along. Thanks for the help.

We always stay at the Red Roof Inn. They are wonderful about the dogs! They don't charge extra and while they say "one small pet", they have never had an issue with our two large dogs. :)

We have also stayed at Red Roof Inn, They are great there! We were able to check in and walk in thru the front loby to our room with our dogs. Some other places make you come in a back door closest to your room so your dog wont disturb anyone. They also asked our dogs names and gave out a treat at check in. They had a nice big grassy area for our dogs to do their buisness.

I usually stay with my Golden at Best Western, Holiday Inn, sometimes Clarion or Ramada... If you try the companies' websites or any of the travel websites they should tell you which ones allow dogs.

When making reservations, please make sure to ask what size dog they allow... I've had several places tell me over the phone that my Golden was fine and then when we got to the hotel or when we called again they told me they only allowed dogs under 30 lbs or something...

Last year my Sister in Law and her husband were traveling from Chicago to Florida, They were having problems finding a Hotel or motel that would let them have a dog. My sister in law put on dark sunglasses and they both walked into a motel with her German Shepard. Because she was thought to be blind the dog was ok. Go figure.

Katie & I give a big thumbs up to the Red Roof Inns. The two we stayed in were both very nice about having a dog in the room, and we met 5 other dogs in one night! Also, some Knight's Inns welcome pets, and an occasional Holiday Inn.
